We Named The Dog Rex

Metamorpho goes Indy.
A detail from Metamorpho: The Element Man #3
Tell it like it is, Rex!

It's newsletter time! And that means it's comics time - with another comic with my name on it hitting stands this very Wednesday! So without further ado...

WHAT'S OUT THIS WEEK?

Metamorpho: The Element Man #3, that's what!

The cover for METAMORPHO: THE ELEMENT MAN #3 by Steve Lieber, featuring Metamorpho dressed as Indiana Jones, Urania dressed as the bride from Kill Bill, and Java dressed as James Bond, all in a fiery cavern under the earth.
It's the genre mash-up you've been waiting for!

This started life as the "secret agent" issue - the idea of Rex and Java joining Urania on one of her adventures was too much fun not to do - and it swiftly became the issue where we find out how Java and fellow caveman Vandal Savage know each other of old. But wait! Isn't Vandal Savage up to all sorts of tricks in Batman comics even as we speak? How can he leave Gotham? Answers there be, Metamaniacs – and a whole lot of questions, too! There's also a double spread that lets you join Rex and Urania as they explore a hidden, forbidden tomb! Will you lead our heroes to victory, or into a maze of ever-increasing danger as only Sensantional Steve Lieber, Lovely Lee Loughridge and Fabulous Ferran Delgado could bring to the page? Buy it and find out!

Also out this week...

The cover for the VENOM WAR TPB by Cafu, showing Spider-man's face being gripped by Venom's hand, with Venom reflected in Spidey's lenses.
A little face time with an old friend.

Venom Vol.8: Venom War! As in the eighth TPB of the Venom comic that came before the current All-New Venom run! It's the companion piece to the main Venom War event - starting with a set-up issue by yours truly to put all the players in place, then barrelling right into what the mysterious Old Man Dylan and his future Venom symbiote were doing while the main event was going on. Turns out it was a time-travel adventure to the Marvel 1960s, guest-starring Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Loki and... young Eddie Brock? Torunn Grønbekk writes, CAFU provides the art.

And that's all for now...

Love, strength and justice to all who need it, and I'll play us out with "She's On My Mind" by Romy.

I don't want to hide it, even if it hurts.
